Mordecai and I have been friends in same orbit.. at least since the dawn of the Dotcom world. Ryan started his first business when he was 14 and has been hooked on business ownership ever since. He has learned to channel his ADHD into tons of energy which helps him to outwork his competitors, and has honed the creativity to find solutions for complex challenges. After graduating Saginaw Valley State University he moved to the paradisiacal Florida Keys, where he began his marketing business, Promotions Guy. In 2016, Promotions Guy expanded to Michigan to be closer to family. He’s a former City Commissioner, an active Rotarian, a guitarist in his church band, Youth Hockey Coach and a member of various Non-Profit Boards. He loves helping others in any way that he can and we at FTN do too! I hope you enjoy our visit with this creative marketing entrepreneur!

Andrew is a product strategist who currently spends most of his time focused

on mental health solutions. Andrew isn’t shy about his history with anxiety and

depression and talks openly about his past experiences to be a vocal advocate

for mental health. At the age of 33, Andrew was diagnosed with ADHD. It wasn’t something he had always suspected but rather Andrew stumbled into the realization. Since his

diagnosis, Andrew has used his ADHD to further advocate however he can -

even if that means in the boardroom.

 

Andrew is also a father of 3 boys and married to a wonderful woman who has

supported him throughout his career. She has been there through the highs and

lows. Andrew often leverages his own struggles to help connect with his Son as

Andrew’s Son tries to navigate his own battles with anxiety and potentially

faster than normal brain. At the end of the day, Andrew believes that if sharing his own story can help just one person then it’s totally worth it. Enjoy!

Our guest today has been in the fitness industry since 2002 as a certified personal trainer, training manager, orthopedic massage therapist, college and university adjunct professor, NASM master instructor, fitness industry presenter, author, and subject matter expert/talent for fitness industry educational videos and written content. He’s the co-host of the Omnia Fitness Podcast with Rick and Drogo and host of the NASM CPT Podcast. He owns the Independent Training Spot, NYC-based personal training gyms and is the co-owner of RēCOVER, an orthopedic and cognitive stress recovery center in Manhattan. He holds a masters in exercise science and a doctorate in health science and exercise leadership.
